Melon’s Cottage -
A lasting legacy
Melon’s Cottage is a lasting legacy remembering Eli Charlie Simpson who died from a rare form of leukaemia at 13 months old. Eli’s mum and dad saw there was a need to help families like theirs to have a ‘break’ from hospital life which can be incredibly intensive.
Melon's Cottage was opened in 2012 after finally getting all the right structures in place. Remove rest and add...it also means that the Cottage has not for profit status so we can offer you receipts that you can use for your tax!
It is important to know that Melon’s Cottage is ‘peppercorn’ leased to the Simpson Family (to make sure we have all the legal stuff covered) but within their constitution, should anything happen, Melon’s Cottage would be sold and everything will be divided up and given to ‘like charities’.
The Simpson’s offer Melon’s Cottage with love and a positive hope that rare childhood cancers and leukaemia can be researched so that other families do not have to endure what they, and other families, have.
Offering two bedrooms and all abilities access, a brilliant and engaging backyard including a parent’s retreat, the Cottage offers a warm hug on arrival and has a fabulous way of helping your family find what it needs during your stay.
